East Texas Historical School House/ "Aunt Ruth's place."

One of a kind! Original Red brick School house turn of the century, remodeled and restored in 2012. This precious 2 bedroom house has a full kitchen, living room with fireplace, dining area, laundry room as well as master bedroom with pot belly stove and bunk room for kids or extra guests. The school house sleeps 6 comfortably. Build back in 1919, the old school was used for many years storing hay, in the mid 70's one of it's original teachers bought it with her husband as their retirement home and lived there till 2011 when she went to live with family and passed in 2020. It changed hands amongst family in 2012 and the current owner updated the school with new windows, bathrooms, kitchen, roof, put in new sheet rock, plumbing and electrical. We still call the school house, "Aunt Ruth's place." Ruth adored her school house and the deer that grazed on her lawn. The current owners have taken care to replant trees that were lost in 2011 and 2022 drought, as well as those lost in the February Freeze of 2021. A pool and outdoor seating and dining were added in 2020, along with 2 tiny homes, granite gravel paths, gardens and koi pond. There are many places to retreat to with a good book and a glass of wine. The house sits on a hill and has many great views from the property south towards Palestine, TX. Many family members still live in the area and fondly remember Aunt Ruth's pies and cakes. Her husband Earl could cure any ailment, so the school house was known in the area as place of praying, learning and healing. The house is still used for the owner's family gatherings and has become a favorite spot to gather for wellness retreats in pilates and yoga. The school house along with it's 2 tiny cottages can host large family gatherings and/or small intimate weddings. The 'GG Cabin" loft/tiny home is set back behind School House on the property. This tiny home comes equipped with full size kitchen, and bathroom. The cabin has a front porch that looks out over koi pond and and pool area. The west side of home looks over to a fire pit patio and pond with access through a small gate. This home is Surrounded by gardens, and has a crushed granite walkway that leads to koi pond and pool area to the east. It's upper Loft is great for the kids with 2 or for athletic adults who don't the lower ceiling in the loft. Another option is for single or couples to stay on fold out sofa in main room. Kitchenette, with fridge, microwave and bathroom with shower. The grounds are great for outdoor lovers and kicking back for those weekends when you need to get out of the city. Some guests like to shop antiques in the small east Texas towns that dot the countryside Athens, Frankston and Palestine. Groomed acre of wide open dog/child/adult play and event space. 3 mini-hiške v sklopu namestitve, vsaka z ločeno teraso, teraso, ognjiščem, zunanjim žarom/jedilnico. Enjoy the history of Palestine TX. We are located in the North Historic District. The pool house is adjacent to our 1907 Greek Revival home. It offers all modern amenities you would expect. You will enjoy easy access to everything from our central location. This the season to enjoy the Christmas Parade Dec 7th, the Grinch's Lair in the Historic Anderson County Jail, The Polar Express Train Ride between Palestine and Rusk runs between Nov 14th thru Dec 28, & the Festival of Trees.

Moj dedek je zgradil to hišo z lastnimi rokami, ki ohranja najboljše in najdragocenejše spomine naše družine. Hiša je bila temeljito prenovljena. Imamo domače živali in vodimo reševalno službo za živali, ki lahko ima do 32 psov. Bivajo na ograjenem dvorišču, kjer se nahaja bazen, in radi plavajo z gosti. V kočo smo dodali internet Starlink in pametno televizijo, da bi med bivanjem močno izboljšali možnosti za zabavo.
