Welcome to the Trailside Gökotta Forest Cottage: a modern, minimalist and serene nature cabin on the Birkie Trail system. Gökotta means 'to get up early to listen to sounds of birds and the forest'. Located right on Birkie Ridge Trailhead with close access to vast CAMBA trails, this is a nature escape for outdoor enthusiasts who love to bike, ski, hike, and bird watch. Enjoy ski-in ski-out to groomed trails, bike-in bike-out right onto trails, then cozy up by the woodstove or fire-pit at night.

We finished building this modern Scandinavian cabin in spring 2020. It’s been featured in Vogue and on Magnolia Network. The cabin sits at the end of the road on a private lot with a perfect view of sunsets over the nature side of the lake. Drive past farm fields, into the woods, and onto our private gravel road, arriving at the driveway. Watch loons, tundra swans, eagles, beavers and deer while you relax by the lake. It's on 40 private, tranquil acres (no neighbors!) with great access to all the Hayward-Cable area has to offer. It's small - intended for two adults, with the option of 2 addtl kids. Lakeside cabin on pristine Diamond Lake in the heart of the Chequamegon National Forest area just outside of Cable, Wisconsin. The Birkebeiner cross country ski trail and scores of other mountain biking, hiking, and snowmobiling trails are close by plus other public recreation opportunities (hunting, snowshoeing, bird watching, etc) abound in the nearby National Forest lands. Several other lakes, including Lake Namekagon and Lake Owen, are nearby for your boating and fishing pleasure.

Hunt Hill's Rustic Log Cabin

Welcome to Hunt Hill Nature Center! We are a public, non-profit learning center and nature sanctuary. Our historic Log Cabin is nearly a century old and offers a peaceful retreat in the woods. All the furniture was updated in 2018. The Log Cabin is located just outside of the main camp, settled on top of a hill overlooking pristine forest habitat. Nearby towns offer additional entertainment or relax in our quiet setting while reading a good book in front of the stone fireplace.
