Cozy, little and old cottage about 90min drive from Reykjavik and 30min from Borgarnes, close to the river Nordura. The view is magnificent. Svartagil is about 3 km from the main road nr. 1, on road nr. 528. It has two bedrooms, one with 1,40m bed and another with 1,20m. Bathroom with a shower, a fully equipped kitchen and living room. There is a hot tub. Lítið gamalt sumarhús á bökkum Norðurár í Borgarfirði. Umhverfið er einstaklega fallegt. Í sumarbústaðahverfi, mjög rólegt og afslappandi.

Contemporary Farmhouse With Amazing Views

Contemporary farmhouse with sauna and a great selection of books on a private 700 hectare property outside Borgarnes on the way to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Approached via a two kilometre private road - this is as secluded a place as you can find. You will cancel your plans and not want to leave the house. The landscape is magnificent as are the views in all directions. Two small lakes are home to a variety of birds including a pair of eagles who visit in late summer and throughout winter.

Háafell Lodge

Welcome to Háafell Farm where we raise sheep, keep horses and have one friendly dog. Our private guest house is located 200 meters above the farm, up the mountain at 130 meters above sea level. It is a recently built (2020), 100 square meter, modern “turf house style” house. Háafell means “The High Mountain” and has a long river that cascades down its side with several tiers of waterfalls. It is a five minute walk to our canyon and it is possible to take a cold bath in one of the waterfalls.

Wooden, warm house for six people. Perfectly integrated into the lava field at the foot of the extinct GRABROK volcano, which you can enter almost straight from home :). Beautiful views and silence. Only the sounds of nature can be heard. An ideal place to observe the northern lights (no city lights). Just 300 meters from the main road No. 1. Fully equipped kitchen. Perfectly clean drinking water flows from the tap. The jacuzzi is already working :) There are bubbles and it's nice :) !!!

Aurora Horizon Retreat

A quiet and peaceful getaway with amazing ocean views. Located in the beautiful fjord called “Hvalfjörður”. Only a 45 minute drive from the capital. The interior was completely renovated in 2024. You can relax in the hot tub and enjoy amazing views of the horizon during the summer and you might see the northern lights during the winter. It's a perfect location for day trips to discover the Snæfellsnes peninsula and the silver circle and it's not far from the golden circle either.

Our 78 square meter 1 bedroom cottage is located 50 minutes drive from Reykjavik. The cottage is luxurious and has an outdoor natural water hot tub from where you can enjoy the Northern Lights or the fantastic sunset. The living area and the balcony have a spectacular view overlooking the fjord and surrounding mountains. The cottage is a great base for day tours in the south or west of Iceland. Gullfoss, Geysir, Thingvellir and Snæfells glacier are all within 1-2 hours’ drive.

The house stands by the shore and includes a private hot tub (renewed in june 2021) where you can enjoy the ocean and mountain view. It is away from farms in the area so you can enjoy some peace and quiet of Icelandic nature. It's 30 km west of Borgarnes. The location is perfect if you are traveling to Snæfellsnes peninsula. Our location is ideal for observing the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) as they can be seen from October through March. There are no nearby lights.

Enjoy nature and amazing views in our beautiful cottage in the mountains of Borgarfjörður - 1 hour drive from Reykjavík. The cottage was built in 2013 - 2015 but has a classic and simple style. There is electric heating, a gas stove and outdoor cooking area. The cottage is close to Krauma geothermal bath and the town of Borgarnes where you can go to stores, museum and restaurants.
