The cabin is furnished with luxury beds; a king in the bedroom and 2 twins in the loft (ladder access). The kitchenette has a Kuerig, hot plate, microwave, toaster, and full refrigerator. The bathroom has a stand up shower and a washer/dryer combo. Make memories and float the river in a tank, tube, or kayak with our local outfitter. Free pickup and dropoff at the cabin.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Quiet and remote. You will see plenty of wildlife and the stars at night, and listen to the coyotes howl. Located 3 miles southwest of Johnstown, NE. This was once a one room grade school that has been converted into a cozy cabin for your enjoyment. No tv, no Wi-Fi, cell service is available. The school house cabin is located next to the Plum Creek Wildlife Management Area and 22 miles from the Niobrara River and 13 miles from Ainsworth, NE.

We are a mere ten minutes from the Calamus River and Calamus Lake (west end) which offers tanking, tubing, boating, and fishing. This is a birders paradise!
