Only 5 miles from the new North East 250 tourist route and Snow roads tourist route. Bothy means basic but read the reviews it's got charm. There are woodland walks direct from the bothy. DIRECTIONS TURN up the track that has a green sign for Strathdon Lodges about 500 metres to the east of the SPAR SHOP.

Ballater and Braemar villages are popular tourist stops.

*WINTER SCHEDULE* Enjoy the house itself or the 12 acres of mostly woodlands at our doorstep. Climb to the top of Ben Newe or Ski at the Lecht. Strathdon in the winter can be harder to access if there is snow. Always check the weather when travelling (October-April). Cosy, hideaway cottage in 2 acres of forest!

Holmhead cottage: Enchanting 200 year old cosy cottage set in approx. 2 acres of its own grounds, located in the heart of Royal Deeside, a tranquil and peaceful setting, near woods and pine trees. A home away from home! It has been in my family for generations and we have finally decided to open it's doors for holiday lets. There's photos of my great great Granny on the walls, it's a cosy cottage with tons of history, an absolute gem!
