Find a Country Feel in the City with Rural Views

Sit out in the backyard then come indoors to relish leafy views from a triple-aspect living room. The apartment has a cottage feel with window boxes and wooden fittings. A hanging plant, and white linens provide a calming feeling. Awake to the songs of birds and explore our 1/2 acre of fruit trees, vegetable beds, and landscape. Yet most of San Diego’s attractions are just 5 to 10 miles away. The new kitchen is included in your space so you can prepare your own meals if desired. Cooking equipment included are a convection toaster oven, coffee maker, hot pot, a microwave, and an induction plate, pots & pans, kitchen tools, cutlery and dishes. We also provide coffee, tea, sugar, salt & pepper, cooking oil, and ice. This space is attached to our main home but you’ll have your own separate entrance and private kitchen/ living, bed and bath. We'd love to greet you and show you around when you arrive, but if we happen to miss you will have your own unique door code to get in. We’ve prepared a binder of information for guests and can help you plan for best use of your time. However if you prefer to be on your own we’re fine with that too. We have walked to downtown or to the nearest trolley, but unless you are walkers and out for exercise, you will probably want a car. There are now lots of bikes available for rent, but it will be uphill to get back to the house. Some of our guests have chosen to rely only on Uber, in which case grocery and/or meal delivery are helpful. If you have an afternoon or evening flight you are welcome to store luggage at our house after your 10 AM check out. We are in a hilly residential area with stores, restaurants and bus/ trolley access about 2 miles away, so you'll have the most flexibility if you come by car. If you choose to Uber, you can order groceries or takeout meals to be delivered.

Great place to stay in a beautiful neighborhood! It’s like having private two rooms for the price of one. Keyless entry and close to everything san diego has to offer. A short drive to downtown San diego, and the San Diego zoo , 10 minutes to the Tijuana border, 10 minutes to Imperial Beach, 20 minutes to Pacific Beach , every place you want to be is close by, big enough for a family getaway and cozy enough for a couple, also great if you are by yourself for work! No pets, parties or drugs

We may not be on the beach, but we're pretty darn close! Located in San Diego's Encanto neighborhood, our modern guest suite with private entrance will allow you to experience the city like a local, with most attractions within 15-20 minutes by car. While a vehicle is recommended to see all that San Diego has to offer, we are close to a trolley that can get you downtown and other areas. This private guest suite is located on the first floor/basement of our historic home, which we’ve been restoring. It has a private entrance and all the amenities of an apartment. Recently renovated, the space feels fresh and modern. Please note that our family lives upstairs, including children and dogs, so you may hear normal household sounds. We do our best to be respectful, but this home is best suited for guests comfortable with a lived-in environment rather than complete silence.

It has a queen bed, a small private bathroom with a shower, a fridge, TV, Wifi, microwave, etc. Guests will love the location and privacy! Beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, etc. are available for your enjoyment. Enjoy the great ocean view from the backyard.

Includes a work/eating area, a comfy queen-size bed & (recently added) memory foam topper, a full bathroom, a kitchenette, vinyl wood flooring, and ample lighting. Includes a private entrance from the side of the property with street parking. A short 8-minute walk to over 20 restaurants and tons of stores, including Baron's market. Just two blocks from the Santa Venita station, which takes you directly to Downtown San Diego.

Affordable San Diego Stay!

Private Guest Suite is 15 minutes east from downtown San Diego. 20 minutes to the airport. 20-25 minutes to the beaches. Not located by anything cool, unless you like Walmart, Target or Sam's Club, which are still driving distance away. Your best bet is to have a car or use ride share app.
