We have one private room which can sleep up to 2 people. This can be set up as either double or twin room, please request your preference on booking. There is WiFi in the room The kitchen and bathroom are shared. We also have laundry facilities. Pets welcome. Parking is available. Penrith is the ‘heart of the Lake District’ and a good place to start discovering this wonderful area. We are only minutes from M6 junction 40. We welcome cyclists and walkers. There is a secure hallway for cycles.

The Grainary at Highside Farm

The Grainary, renovated in 2017, is a historic Grade II listed barn that has witnessed centuries of transformation. Once a humble working barn, it evolved into a bustling grain store before being lovingly converted into a cosy king-sized bedroom. Perched between the farmyard and mountains, its position offers break-taking views over Bassenthwaite Lake, and the eastern slopes of Ullock Pike, providing an unforgettable backdrop to your stay. Breakfast can be included as an additional extra.

A luxury self-catering studio apartment with exposed slate walls, on our top (second) floor, Penthouse is suitable for a couple, two adults with a child, or a group of three. It has a solid oak, king-sized bed and a solid oak, single sofa bed, mini-kitchen and living area. The kitchenette has a small hob, fridge, and microwave. The bathroom has a roll-top bath and separate shower. Penthouse also enjoys access to a private roof terrace with stunning panoramic views. Too beautiful to miss!

The Shepherd's Hut is a gorgeous little place for solo holiday makers - complete with a wood-burning stove, loo and bed! It is set behind The Mount B&B. It has great views of the garden, and easy access from the car park. The hut contains everything you should need - apart from a shower so you have your own private shower-room in the main house. In addtion, you are welcome to use the lounge in the main house for watching telly and relaxing when you are not out on the fells.

A cosy cottage bedroom at Larriston Farm - a mid 19th century farm steading around a cobbled courtyard. We're 20 minutes' drive from Kielder and the observatory, and Newcastleton, in a very rural setting amongst fields, woods, hills and rivers. Dogs welcome. We offer a continental breakfast, and you're welcome to use the kitchen to cook a light evening meal. We have two double rooms - check our other listing too if there's more than two of you.
