This small 128 sq ft tiny house is packed with charm. Situated on a serene 5 acre wooded property, its a short drive to Hillsborough (10 min), Chapel Hill (15) and Durham (15). I wanted to create a space where guests can take time to rest and reset. The house is cozy, stylish, and surprisingly spacious. Its well appointed with all the amenities to feel like home. Take a step outside and you'll be surrounded by old hardwood trees and the soothing sounds of nature that make life here so peaceful

Guest Suite: Artist studio turned into loft.

A guest suite that's a former artist studio with 10-15 foot high windows and 20 foot high ceiling, converted into one bedroom loft with private entrance, bath, living area, and kitchenette. The space is attached to the rest of my house, but you'll have a private entrance, your own bathroom, living area and kitchenette and two seat dining table. You will not have access to a full kitchen. New in September 2025: Blackout curtains provide privacy at night and a darker room for sleeping in.

Chapel Hill Studio Hideaway

This stand alone studio has a fully functional kitchen complete with fridge and countertop stove, a renovated bathroom with walk-in shower, and separated lounge and sleeping areas, all contained in a compact space for travelers on a budget who don’t want to compromise luxury. This studio is the lower portion of the Rolling Road Retreat, with only shared spaces of parking and patio with potential guests of the house. Studio is separated from the main house by a door that locks from both sides.

The Chapel Hill Forest House

Book this incredible tiny house for the perfect romantic getaway in the heart of Chapel Hill! It sits in a private forest full of wildlife but is only a 5-minute walk to Franklin Street and the UNC campus. Enjoy amazing views from the floor-to-ceiling windows of foxes and deer playing on the lawn. Lounge on the wall-to-wall hammock as you gaze at the trees through the skylights. Unwind with a movie in bed played on our massive projector. There's nothing like this anywhere in the Triangle!

Artist's Studio

Originally the studio of a visual artist (long ago garden illustrator for The New York Times), this petite building is completely private. Firm queen bed. Mix of antiques and artisanal built-ins. Radiant heat. AC. Mini fridge and microwave, electric kettle, Chemex coffee maker and French Press, excellent wifi. Unique space in one of the best country neighborhoods around. 6.5 miles to Hillsborough healthy grocery store, 8 to Carrboro/Chapel Hill, 18 to Durham. Serene pond and grounds.

"Forest Garden" A One Bedroom Retreat

A 600 s.f. cottage retreat designed by Robert Phillips. One bedroom, full bath and kitchen, and spacious living room. Ten ft. ceilings and fine architectural details; terraced; fountains nestled in a tree grove on 10 acres with foot paths. 15-20 minutes to Chapel Hill/Carrboro, University of North Carolina; Pittsboro and the Saxapahaw arts community on the Haw River. Come stay in our private suite on the lower level of our home! We have a great location only 9 minutes drive to UNC and easy access to I-40 gets you to RDU and the airport easily. We provide high speed internet with ethernet hookup and mesh wifi with a dedicated workstation. Large flatscreen TV includes at least 3 streaming services and our personal digital movie library through Apple TV app. Fully stocked Keurig station with coffee, tea and the morning basics!

Sweet 1 bed/1 bath apartment with full kitchen on the lower level of our home. Separate entrance and dedicated parking spotmake it very private. Huge deck with a hillside view of the creek makes you feel like you are in the mountains! Only 2 miles to UNC and downtown Chapel Hill. Direct access to a beautiful nature trail and paved greenway. One-half mile to free bus service to all of Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Convenient access to shopping and movie theater.
