We're a Dutch couple whose lodge is nestled in the mountains of Madarao in Japan. Our lodge provides capacity for a max of 20 guests divided over 5 units. Our cozy, comfortable space makes for a great base to explore the mountains around the region. During winter, we offer private ski/snowboarding lessons, and side and backcountry guiding. We cater to guests during all other seasons too and offer fine dining experiences during your stay. We aim to create the perfect vacation experience for you!

Japan Alpine Guesthouse, hotspring, & music space.

Cozy alpine guesthouse cabins with in-house natural hotspring baths in the forested highlands of Japan's epic 3000m Nagano Alps, offering the closest possible accommodation to the "Roof of Japan" - the Alpine Route and Takase hiking treks. Hakuba ski resorts start 15 minutes away. We also have a compact music studio in the main lodge with guitars, bass, keyboard and electronic drum kit - suitable for a small group of musicians with space for 3 to 4 players and 6 to 8 intimate audience seats.

Price per room for 1-2 guests is 25,000 yen (16 + rooms total in lodge). Access to 3 chairlifts within 100 metres. Private guest only licensed bar with billiards table in lodge. Use of dining, laundry, commercial size kitchen, large ski dry rooms. Rental store directly behind lodge. Ski in ski out to both Cortina and Norikura. Amazing location! This room is a Japanese Tatami room with comfortable futon beds. The room is Slope-side with south-easterly facing and receives good sunlight. Extra futons can be added with up to 3 people able to stay. Experience the real comforts of Japanese hospitality with our comforting and relaxing guidance. Extra costs per person for larger groups. Penke Panke Lodge is a well equipped nature lodge located in the scenic upper Wadano at the base of Happoone ski resort. Enjoy nature but without loosing all the modern comforts of home. We have complimentary bikes and rafts to take the lake and you can enjoy a evening BBQ for only 3,000 yen to help us cover the cost of the coals or gas and the time to clean the grill.
