Cozy, 12 x12’ sleeping cabin on three acre property in the Ohia forest in Mountain View. Situated four miles off Hwy 11 between Hilo and Volcano National Park, come try off-grid living in a private setting. Fully equipped with solar lighting, propane on-demand hot water and great wireless internet. The 1400’ elevation makes for cool evenings and comfortable sleeping. The shared kitchen and full bath are located just steps away in a separate building. Kitchen has a gas stove and full sized refrigerator. Laundry facilities are located here as well and free to use. Rural location provides privacy and quiet. Volcano National Park is 20 minutes away, Hilo 25. Keau’u is less than 10 miles and offers gas, groceries, post office, urgent care and limited fast food.

We are located between two of the Big Islands most iconic areas; Hawaii Volcano National Park and Hilo's beaches, approximately both a 20-minute drive from the studio. Large studio unit attached to our family home in HPP, a rural subdivision in Puna on Hawai‘i Island. 20 min from Hilo Int'l Airport & 40 min from Volcanoes NP. We have 2 large rescue dogs, Jack & Boogie, and a big blind pig, Lilo. They bark/chuff and will be excited to meet you. If you aren't comfortable around large dogs and a blind pig this is not the place for you. We also have many cats, unintentional coqui frogs, and our neighbor has goats. Animal noises are part of this rural space.

The last two miles are on unpaved gravel road in variable condition depending upon how much rain we've had lately. Four wheel drive isn't necessary but an SUV or similar vehicle with higher clearance is recommended.
