Enchanting Woodsy Getaway: Cozy Cabin

Cozy Cabin in Hvalfjörður (Whale fjord). A great spot to enjoy nature and the beautiful northern lights, still close to the city and all major attractions in south-west Iceland. The cabin is located in the north of Hvalfjörður in the hill Fornistekkur, facing the south with beautiful surroundings and Mt Brekkukambur at the back. In the cabin you'll be able to enjoy the quiet nature close to some of the main attractions and still reach Reykjavík in only 40-50 minutes. Close by you will find great hiking trails, for example to the second highest waterfall in Iceland Glymur, mere 10-15 minute drive away, to Síldarmannagötur and Mt Þyrill 5-8 min away. Hvammsvík's Hot Springs are just on the other side of the fjord, approx 20 min drive and guests in my cabin will get 15% discount there. Þingvellir national park is within an hour away and from there you can visit the Geysir and the Golden Circle among others in the south. In the west there are many wonderful attractions like Snæfellsjökull glacier, located at the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. The Peninsula is loaded with many attactions, like Arnarstapi, Djúpalónsandur, Hellnar, Kirkjuflell (the most photographed mountain in Iceland) and so on. In a walking distance from the cabin you might be able to pay a visit to our friendly Icelandic horses or have a walk on the beach where you might see seals. During winter (when it's dark) you'll have the opportunity to enjoy the northern lights, just outside in the hot tub or on the patio. Our new renovated 85 square meter cottage is charming and welcoming, surrounded with beautiful Icelandic nature. The cottage is located at the top of the slope with a mountain, lake and woodland view. Direct access for nice hiking or romantic walk to the salmon river and the lake. It is close to many attractive destinations worth to visit. All beds are brand new and comfortable and heat in all floors. Cosy cottage 2 close to Reykjavík - hot tub

The cottage is cosy and it has everything you need to make a perfect meal in the kitchen or you can use the gas grill outside the cottage. It´s close to the sea and you can see the seals play along the shore. The cottage although small is ideal for 2-4 person. There is a free WIFI and on the veranda is a private hot tub where you can soak while enjoying the view. There is no light pollution here like in Reykjavik or in towns and therefore ideal location for watching the Northern Lights.

Gunnu Hús by Meðalfellsvatn ( Our lakeside cottage nestles at the foot of Medalfell mountain and the garden leads right down to the lake. The views are spectacular, of the lake and its surrounding mountain scape; it is a place of pure tranquility. It has 3 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and sitting room. It has a large double bedroom, and small double bedroom and a room with a bunk bed. It is well known and often listed as one of the most scenic and lovely summer cottages in Iceland.

Aurora Horizon Retreat

A quiet and peaceful getaway with amazing ocean views. Located in the beautiful fjord called “Hvalfjörður”. Only a 45 minute drive from the capital. The interior was completely renovated in 2024. You can relax in the hot tub and enjoy amazing views of the horizon during the summer and you might see the northern lights during the winter. It's a perfect location for day trips to discover the Snæfellsnes peninsula and the silver circle and it's not far from the golden circle either.

This secluded cabin is just 35 min from Reykjavík and offers complete privacy along with a hot tub overlooking the lake. The bathroom is fully equipped, while the modest yet functional kitchenette includes all the essentials for a comfortable stay. Enjoy a selection of movies on the TV with a DVD player—please note there’s no WiFi, making this the perfect spot to unplug and enjoy a peaceful, cozy getaway. We use geothermal water. Our 78 square meter 1 bedroom cottage is located 50 minutes drive from Reykjavik. The cottage is luxurious and has an outdoor natural water hot tub from where you can enjoy the Northern Lights or the fantastic sunset. The living area and the balcony have a spectacular view overlooking the fjord and surrounding mountains. The cottage is a great base for day tours in the south or west of Iceland. Gullfoss, Geysir, Thingvellir and Snæfells glacier are all within 1-2 hours’ drive.

Stunning villa with amazing 360 views, great location close to the golden circle and the capital region (only 30 min drive). The villa has 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and sleeps 10 people. The Black Tiny House in Walfjord near Reykjavik (50 min.) is a modern and well-equipped small vacation home with great views of the fjord and surrounding mountains. The Nordic interior and fireplace create a cozy atmosphere. The ideal place to relax and enjoy the tranquility of Icelandic nature. Hiking opportunities nearby.
