In winter, the northern lights often light up the sky, making this a magical place to stay. The hut is only accessible by car, as there is no public transport.

The views are spectacular, of the lake and its surrounding mountain scape; it is a place of pure tranquility. It has 3 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and sitting room. It has a large double bedroom, and small double bedroom and a room with a bunk bed. It is well known and often listed as one of the most scenic and lovely summer cottages in Iceland.

A lakeside cabin at the foot of Medalfell mountain with direct access to the lake. A peaceful place with a beautiful lakeview where you can relax to the gentle sounds of the water. On the terrace is a barrel sauna with a beautiful view over the lake. The surrounding area is full of nature and a good starting point for little hikes. Good location for day trips to Snæfellsnes and the Golden Circle. During the winter time is a good chance of seeing the Northern lights (Aurora Borealis).

The bathroom is fully equipped, while the modest yet functional kitchenette includes all the essentials for a comfortable stay.
