The Coach House

LOXHORE, a village and a parish near Barnstaple, North Devon. The village stands on a hill, amid beautiful scenery, 5¼ miles from the main town of Barnstaple. The Coach House is in the grounds of The Old Rectory, it enjoys open views across the Devon countryside and is only a short walk to the entrance to Deer Park Woods, part of the Arlington Court Estate. Cosy country cottage a stone throw from the beach!

Lee, is a small village nestled in a valley between Woolacombe, with its great surfing beach and the Victorian seaside town of Ilfracombe. Lee, has its own cove, which is a 5 minute walk from the cottage, perfect for rock pooling or why not try the bathing beach, accessible at low tide or via the coast path. There is a pub - The Grampus Inn, a 2 minute walk from Seal cottage, with its delightful beer garden. There are numerous idyllic footpaths to explore Lee and much further!

Thatched Devon Cottage beside stream near beach

Skirr Cottage was the home of the acclaimed writer Henry Williamson who is best known as the author of Tarka the Otter. With its pretty whitewashed exterior the cottage is set next to a trickling stream next to the historic Norman church of St. George in the heart of Georgeham village. Putsborough surfing beach is a 25 minute walk via fields or via a lane. or 5 minute drive. The Kings Arms and 17th century Rock Inn serving gastro pub food are 1 minute and a 4 minute walk away.

Miller's Cottage is located next to our 16th century watermill and award winning tearoom (Hele Cornmill). Ideal for families : children can have a go at milling flour in the mill and have a go at counting the wooden mice and millstones. 5 min walk to Hele's dog friendly beach and a dog/family friendly pub serving good food. There are lots of walks from the cottage either on the South West Coastal Path or into the hills of Berrynarbor.
