Our off-the-grid, solar-powered cottage is nestled within our 18 acres in the town of Washington, Maine. The cottage borders a beautiful stream, is surrounded by tall pines and is several hundred feet away from our home, providing a very private and serene experience. We are close to many local lakes and hiking trails and only 30 minutes from Camden & Rockland.

Thistledown Farm's Sheep Shed Cottage

Thistledown Farm's Sheep Shed Cottage was created by joining 2 handhewn post and beam barns. Located on the beautiful Thistledown Farm property, it is furnished with unique antiques and old barn finds. The sleeping loft is accessible only by a ship's ladder. Adults and kids alike LOVE it. It is a great place to kick back! The accommodations are rustic-more like "glamping" than a dolled-up seaside cottage. This is a seasonal space, and bookings are only available from mid-May to mid-October.

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Oasis Family Farm has approximately 40 acres with a farm stand, greenhouse, Chickens, Guinea Hens and Pigs. Less than a mile from Hidden Valley Nature Center with 1000 acres to explore. Newly remodeled 2 Bedroom Guest house (840 Sqft) above the garage with breathtaking views of the farm. The Appleton Retreat is a short scenic drive to Belfast, Camden, Rockport and Rockland. Braeburn at The Appleton Retreat is down a 1/2 mile driveway, on 120 acres of private land, bordered by a 1,300 acre Nature Conservancy reserve. A 1/2 hour walk on a wooded trail leads to a large secluded pond. Braeburn feels like a treehouse, with expansive windows, overlooking woods and wildlife. Enjoy grilling on the screened in porch and indulge in your private therapeutic year round hot tub.

The "Fish House": Salt Water Cove Carriage House

The Fish House is a separate building adjacent to our home on 3 1/2 private acres in a peaceful, private HOA neighborhood, with paved road and cable utilities. Wildlife abounds with foxes, osprey, great blue herons, bald eagles and seals. We have several gardens with flowering plants, blueberries, vegetables and herbs that we share with guests throughout the growing season. We're an hour and a half north of Portland and within a half hour of the best restaurants in the midcoast area!

Meadow Breeze cottage

Our peaceful 16 acre wetland meadow/ wooded property is teeming with birds and wildlife, wild cranberries, and a short trail system making this a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature year round. Seasonal access to the St. George River and White Oak Pond, allow for paddling May to October. We are just 3.5 miles from historic Union Common, the oldest Common in Maine, and 1/2 mile from Beth's Farm Market, featuring baked goods, fresh produce, milk, and fall activities in season!
