We are New Zealand's largest fenced eco-sanctuary, home to 2,500 kiwi which you should be able to hear at night. Your accommodation includes free access for self-guided walks through the Southern Enclosure, or book a tour to get truly immersed in nature.

Dreamy sunsets over Lake Taupo & Ruapehu

Our modern home is 15 minutes from Taupō yet feels like a private hideaway. Quiet and secluded, it looks out to Lake Taupō and Mount Ruapehu, with stunning sunsets. Ideal year-round, it has outdoor areas with BBQ, large windows and a double-sided fireplace. Whakaipo Bay is 5 minutes away for swimming or walking, with plenty of bush tracks nearby. Not suitable for children. Hairdryer, toiletries and iron not provided (sorry guests keep taking them and it’s to hard to constantly replace).

The Hilly House, Private Boutique Accommodation

The Hilly House is a hillside property in the heart of the Whitehall district, surrounded by beautiful rural views. Very private. Outdoor baths for relaxing in peace, star gazing with a glass of wine or two. Our friendly and inquisitive llamas will come over to greet you, you can fine their pellets inside the house. There are many lovely walks nearby. Blue Springs in Putaruru, 40 mins. Sanctuary Mt Maungatautari, 35 mins and 10 mins from Lake Karapiro and Cambridge with amazing eateries.

Breathe the fresh country air at this contemporary architecture retreat. On the outside, the home features a sleek industrial aesthetic and a private outdoor bath, while the inside bursts with a boutique design style, neutral greys, and wood accents. The country stay is located down a typical New Zealand country road. Surrounded by dairy farms and kiwi fruit orchards, guests may see farmers about their daily work. Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, Black Water Rafting and the Ruakuri Bush Walk is a short 20 minute drive away.
