1880s Miner’s Cottage in Moonta Mines – Heritage

Step back in time at this 1880s miner’s cottage in historic Moonta Mines. Built over 140 years ago and extended in the early 1900s by the man who built many Yorke Peninsula roads, it still features the dining room, kitchen and bathroom he added. Lovingly owned for 12+ years and renovated twice, the cottage blends original stone walls and low doorways with modern comforts, a cozy wood fire, a well-equipped indoor & outdoor kitchen, and a big backyard perfect for BBQs under the dark night stars.

A privately owned cottage so centerally located you can leave your car and walk to almost everything & has just undergone a total revitalization right through out in refeashing and family friendly decor. The back yard bosts has an awesome Alfrasco BBQ area nestled amongst the old stone fence and paved with old red bricks where you can comfortably seat 10 secluded in the large fully lawned surrounds. No roads between the property and the beach with convenient stairway access to beach at the front. Neighbouring property, Sandcastles 2 Moonta Bay may also be of interest depending on availability and your group size. Note, a security camera at Sandcastles 1 shed monitors the rear of property where property is entered and rubbish bins are stored for security.

The Brown Shack

There is more than meets the eye, from the front appears like a humble shack. Your family will be close to the beach (3 minute walk) playgrounds and Splash Town when you stay at this centrally located place. Up to date finishes with a large outdoor area. Pet friendly with a kennel available. Has been partially renovated, so there are still some things that need to be finished! However the location is fantastic

The Beach Shack is nestled halfway down Otago Rd, and your veranda opens straight out onto the sand! This original weatherboard beach shack will remind you of your childhood holidays, and has everything you will need for a relaxing holiday. We want our place to be somewhere you can relax and switch off - to help with this there is no tv at the shack. Have a great stay!
