Old Acadia Ranger Yurt at Long Pond

Newly Constructed. Old Acadia Ranger Yurt, a 25 ft. Yurt nestled in the pine and maple forest 1/4 mile from Long Pond and Acadia National Park hiking trails. New construction includes a full bath with a large walk-in shower, kitchen with gas stove/oven, microwave, refrigerator, dinette table w/ seating. Bedding includes, 1 Queen sized bed, 1-fold down double couch, Queen bed in loft, and 1 rollaway cot. Towels and bedding provided. Four (4) guests only (no exceptions). Pets are not permitted.

Farm stay in a cozy yurt

Welcome to Bald Mountain Farm. The yurt is now stocked with fire starter, kindling and wood. The yurt has a full bed. It is hooked up to electricity for lights and a hot plate. Pots, pans and utensils are in the drawer. The compost toilets are in the back. There is no running water but we provide a drinking fountain and little foot pump sink. Note that in the winter months, the foot pump sink is out of order. There is no shower. The distance between parking and the yurt is about 150 yards.

Fox’s Hollow at The Howling Woods

Our Yurt is hand made. Every log was peeled and split to create the initial lattice work. The inside is sheethed in thin plywood & painted which gives it a more homey feel than a typical rubbery tarp covered yurt. :) There is a large domed skylight at the center to let in the sunlight. You can also crank open the hexagon window to let in fresh air. Inside you’ll find a lofted double bed & extra blankets & a futon mattress for larger parties. The kitchenette is great for basic cooking.

Our private, off grid glamping experience is the perfect way to relax and unwind after exploring the nearby coast of Maine. The six acre property is located just 15 minutes from Mount Desert Island and five minutes from downtown Ellsworth, malls and amenities. The yurt and adjacent campsite comfortably sleep up to six adults. While firewood is included for the indoor cast iron wood stove, sleeping bags are a must have in the cooler months.
