This incredible space has been the inspirational hub for designing the most creative projects in Humboldt during the past 18 years. Now it has been reborn as an immersive space to enjoy the redwoods. Every inch has been thoughtfully designed to allow our guests to feel the enveloping majestic nature of the surrounding forest. Upon arrival, a golf cart awaits for your journey through the woods, to the upper landing of the raised boardwalk crossing over a seasonal creek bringing you to The Studio.

Located in the peaceful area of Hiouchi, just outside Crescent City, this one story home offers perfect blends of comfort, space, and natural beauty. Step inside to a bright, open layout featuring vaulted ceilings, a fully equipped kitchen and a huge living room—ideal for gathering. Large windows bring in natural light and showcase the surrounding forest, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere.

Smith River - Riverfront Retreat

Located on the beautiful Smith River*. Fully furnished. 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom. Spacious living room with large windows providing beautiful views of the the river. Refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, blender, toaster, ironing board/iron, washer and dryer. Wifi, Roku with streaming channels (bring your login info for Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, etc). * river is not accessible from the home however there is access about 1 mile down the road. Please do not try to access river from our property.

Shore Acres Ocean View Cabin and Retreat Space

Step back in time and experience the best that Humboldt has to offer at the exceptionally preserved Shore Acres cottage. Set on a serene and completely private parcel, this unique property offers unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean and access to the Mad River frontage beach, as well as a private duck-stocked pond and local creek. Wonderful for couples, families and groups, you won't find a better location on the river to relax and enjoy nature.

Hike the redwoods, shopping in a Victorian Old Town, dine on local seasonal delicacies like Salmon and crab. Pick up necessities at Three-Corners Market, about a 5 minute drive.

The Emerald Outpost - off-grid gateway to SRNF

Get into the wild! Private, remote, off-grid. Our cozy cabin sits on 12 acres of forest property and is surrounded by Six Rivers National Forest land without a neighbor in site. You'll be just steps from a crystal clear private swimming hole in year-round Jones Creek. Drive 2 miles to picturesque swimming holes on the wild and scenic Smith River. If you love the idea of unplugging to enjoy the wilderness in all its natural glory, consider this unique getaway!

Adjacent to Redwood National Park

Comfortable and cozy Farmhouse surrounded by nature and adjacent to the trails of Redwood National Park. Perfect location for exploring the Redwood Coast. Rental has a great room, full kitchen, Queen bedroom, bath, balcony and two sleeping lofts, which are accessed by ships ladders. Lofts recommended for children age 6 and older. There is a second vacation rental on the first floor reserved by one or two persons.

Fern Hook Vacation Cabins are located nearby Jedidiah Smith State Park in the tiny hamlet of Hiouchi, California. Indulge yourself in a private setting of magnificent redwoods carpeted with ferns. Our newly constructed cabins with full kitchens will provide deluxe accommodations while you enjoy this natural wonderland. This cabin is not pet friendly.
