The Owlery at Mill Farm

Recently converted, the Owlery is the perfect self-catered rural escape for couples. With its double height vaulted ceiling and full height double aspect windows the open plan kitchen living diner offers a light and airy space to unwind and enjoy the view of surrounding fields. The bedroom has a Kingsize bed, Egyptian cotton sheets and En-Suite shower room. The Bathroom offers complimentary Bramley products and cotton bathrobes. Both areas are underfloor heated. There is a private garden.

Grooms Cottage by Sheriff Hutton Castle, Near York

Grooms Cottage is on a private estate right next to the ruins of Sheriff Hutton Castle. The property is in a peaceful setting but only two minutes walk away from the village pub and post office/general store. Our cottage was completely renovated in 2021 and is in a great location for walkers, cyclists, and explorers. It’s about 10 miles from both York and Malton, Castle Howard is under 6 miles away, and the coast can be reached in under an hour. Grooms Cottage sleeps 4 guests+2 babies +dogs

In the rural village of Sheriff Hutton, located just 20 minutes north of York and less than 1 hr from beach. Free parking. Your shepherd's hut is set in the enclosed, inner courtyard of the C14th castle ruins, your own private space. Atmospheric and perfect for relaxing, enjoying a quiet drink in the evening in front of the fire pit & gazing at a starry sky or the impressive ruins. We have 3 other stays, for couples, around the castle available if you would like to visit with friends. No WiFi.

The barn is 1100ft up on the edge of Peak National Park with complete privacy, far enough away from it all yet within walking distance to two excellent local pubs! What's not to like? If you are looking for the perfect spot to unwind, with all mod cons, take long walks or bike rides with breathtaking views, this is the place for you. High spec space, well equipped with all the essentials. Ample parking.

The Garden Room

Two renovated old buildings have been converted into a quiet, one bedroom, self contained Garden room. In the centre of Slingsby village, you are well placed to explore the beautiful surrounding areas of Yorkshire. A modern kitchen with fridge, microwave and cooker is equipped for preparing delicious meals. A wall mounted television with Netflix is available. The sleeping area hosts a double bed with wall hanging for clothes, adjacent to which is a bright shower room with heated towel rail.

Countryside location near to York

Nestled in the countryside just outside York, 'The Kennel' is a relaxing and peaceful retreat. This small but perfectly formed self-contained annex is set in three acres of newly planted woodland in which you can often see the Barn, Tawny and Little Owls visiting to be fed from the feeding posts, garden, small orchard, wildlife pond and apiary housing up to 4 beehives which provide us with some delicious honey. To the rear of the property is a Whisky and Gin Distillery.

You're the only cabin on the lake. No other guests. No neighbours. Just you, woodland, and water. You'll arrive to find the lakeside sauna and copper bath on the deck and secret nooks around the edge of the woods where you can watch the sunset and the stars in front of the fire pit. Hidden near to the Howardian Hills and Yorkshire Wolds, Kingfisher Cabin @ Kingfisher and Yew is a Yorkshire Post Tourism Awards finalist and featured in Living North's top retreats.

Stunning rural shepherds hut

Located in the stunning Howardian Hills, this is a peaceful and romantic location. A perfect all year round escape. You park your car and the hut is a 5 minute walk from our house- make sure you pack suitable footwear. We can transport your luggage to the hut. The hut has cooking facilities (oven and a hob), there is also a fire pit for barbecues and a picnic table for outdoor dining. You have exclusive use of a hot tub which is right next to the hut.

Set in the countryside within easy reach for pretty towns, the coast, York and various attractions, you will find "The Byre". This self-contained, barn with traditional beams, underfloor heating, and special touches, offers a relaxing retreat after a long day exploring. Set at the top of the village green with views of Sheriff Hutton Castle, our cottage is a luxurious rural retreat, furnished by an interior designer. The village has strong connections with Richard III, and is ideally situated to explore medieval York, Castle Howard, the North York Moors or the Yorkshire coast. There is a shop/Post Office, and walking routes right outside the door. The village pub, The Highwayman, serves good pub grub.

Situated in picturesque farmland Moxby Priory Cottage offers a perfect base to explore everything that North Yorkshire has to offer. Just 10 miles from York this former granary dating back to 1840 has been lovingly renovated to offer a private retreat. The cottage is a delightful, spacious and fully equipped one bedroom property, with original high pitched ceiling, timber and stone flagged floors, lawned garden and private parking.
