Vallakot Farm Guesthouse is a small guesthouse, located in Northeast Iceland in the middle of the Diamond circle. It is situated in a green and peaceful valley called Reykjadalur and the village Laugar is only a few kilometers away with a restaurant, grocery shop, a swimming pool and other amenities. Vallakot Farm is both a farm and a guesthouse and a place that has been in the family for decades. We have three studio apartments built in 2017 and a cabin that we finished renovate in June 2023.

This newly renovated one-bedroom apartment is located in the peaceful village of Laugar, within 30 minutes' drive of Akureyri, Mývatn and Húsavík. The apartment includes a full kitchen with stove, microwave, coffee maker and kettle. A private bathroom with walk-in shower and towel warmer, free toiletries and a hair dryer. Towels and bed linen are provided. Free parking and private entrance. WiFi is free throughout the premises. A restaurant and grocery store are within 200m of the property.

Charming rural cabin for couples, outdoor shower

Registered number:- HG-00020047. The cabin is 15 m2 and is a hidden nugget in our garden overlooking the fjord opposite Akureyri. The cabin was completed in April 2020. There is a kitchenette with a kettle, microwave and fridge. The WC is separate inside with a hand basin. The cabin is private and there is a half wrap around deck to enjoy the evening views and midnight skies. There is an outside shower with hot water for a natural experience. All products in the cabin are fragrance-free.

Slow Travel Mývatn uses the uniqueness of the region, its culture, history and traditions to offer our guests a calm, decelerated and mindful stay. We stand for environmentally friendly and sustainable tourism in harmony with nature and the people living in the region. Þúfa is our house with soul and personality. It is located on Vogar family land, close to the lake & the village Reykjahlið. On the ground floor we live as hosts. On the first floor is the accomodation for our guests.

Original restored turf farmhouse in the highlands

Sænautasel gives you a opportunity to experience living as people did in the olden days in Iceland. You should therefore be aware that there is no electricity. Everybody is sleeping in “Baðstofan”, which the space over the kitchen is called in Icelandic. Breakfast and/or Dinner is available for extra charge. You need to book this in advance at least 2 days prior. If you decide to book 2 nights you should be aware that Sænautasel functions as a guided museum from 12-17 PM.

Mývatn apartments: Luxury in nature

Mývatn apartments is a two-way house with two brand new luxury apartments. Each apartment has 3 rooms with a capacity of 6 people. 2 couple beds and 2 additional single beds. Moreover, in each apartment you will find two bathrooms with showers. Everything newly built in a modern but homie style. It‘s central location is optimal to get the most out of your vacation. Being surrounded by stunning icelandic nature and opportunities for outdoor activities.

Guesthouse Hvítafell has a private room and a bathroom for 2 persons in a quiet environment. There is a small kitchenette in the room with an electric hob, fridge, electric kettle, toaster, microwave and kitchenware. Guesthouse Hvítafell is in a perfect place, in the north. It close to Goðafoss, Lake Myvatn, Dettifoss, Askja, Akureyri, Húsavík, Ásbyrgi and many beautiful pure natur in Iceland. Guesthouse Hvítafell is in quiet beautiful surroundings

Bakkakot 1 - Cosy cabins in the wood

Bakkakot 1 is the largest of our cabins in the woods, with beautiful views of the ocean and mountains. A relaxing retreat in the Icelandic countryside with TV, DVD, well equipped kitchen, shower room, WiFi, games and books, and a shared grill (summer) and hot tub area. We are located 20km from Akureyri, so this cabin is the perfect location for those seeking peace and quiet, nature, northern lights or just a great base on the Arctic Coastway.

Litla Stella, Skútustaðir 2a by Lake Myvatn

A little cabin built in year 2015 in an amazing location in the wonderful Lake Myvatn area. Surrounded by nature and birdlife you'll feel right at home in our cozy cabin, with a kitchen, queen size bed, full bathroom and a big hot tub. Self catering. Hot tub access. Beautiful views only few steps from the cabin. The pseudo craters in the north and the wetland and the mountains in the south and east.

Farm cabin 3

Nice and homie little room in a timber cottage, perfect to unwind and experience the calm and quiet countryside, we are very central to most attractions in the area, and a great location to spot some northern lights during winter. Very little light pollution is in the area. You have everything you need with a small kitchenette and a mini fridge. Full private bathroom with a shower and a hairdryer

Small house no. 3 - great view!

The house is one of three new modern houses at Sunnuhlíð. Opened in February 2015. The houses are especially designed for a couple or a small family traveling on their own in Iceland. Guests can enjoy the beautiful view of Eyjafjördur and Akureyri.
