The Treehouse: Off-grid Retreat

Shaded in a canopy of macrocarpa trees at the base of Mt Taranaki national park, The Treehouse is a grown-up childhood sanctuary. Built from recycled materials, a repurposed spiral staircase takes you up the multiple levels of The Treehouse to a secluded living space nestled between the trees. Kick back in the canopy, swoop on the swings or shoot down the slide. This self-contained treehouse is powered by renewable energy and is only a short drive to New Plymouth, local beaches and the mountain.

Ōkato Retro Studio, Taranaki

Cosy self-contained studio, located on Surf Highway 45, the main route through Ōkato village, one of Taranaki’s most historic and creative areas. Only 20 minutes from New Plymouth but far enough to enjoy village life. Explore the mountain or coastal scenic areas with this studio as your base. Fun and stylish this unique space is perfect for those looking to stay somewhere a bit different. Pets allowed - 2 max. Please book your pets in when booking - there is a $30 pet fee. No pets on furniture.

Cute & Cosy Oeo Country Cottage - no cleaning fee

This rural getaway is situated between Opunake & Manaia on Surf highway 45. Older but cosy cottage with 3 bedrooms on our dairy farm. Clean with lovely linen & comfy beds. Good base - 30 mins to Mt Taranaki, 10 mins to Opunake. Close proximity to lots of surf breaks, Pihama lavender farm, Mt Taranaki and many other amazing adventures & scenery. Ask us for directions to walk over the farm & down the farm beach. FB @maollafarms. Longer term rental available - not doing short stays currently.

Birchbank Cottage & Farm Puniwhakau

We welcome you to reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. We are surrounded by native bush and farmland, with hiking tracks on the door step. There are no shops once you leave Stratford or Taumarunui, so please ensure you have enough food for your stay. Also there is no cellphone coverage( but starlink is connected). Ex-Convent BnB Lodge in Stratford -Exclusive Use

Cadence BnB, an ex-convent, is a 7 bed room, 4 bathroom lodge 20 minutes from Egmont National Park. a continental Breakfast is provided as well as all linen, towels and WIFI shampoo, conditioner and bodywash. Hosts Ross and Rosanne Barker live in the private front part of the residence. You are not staying in their space - only sharing with other guests. A small kitchenette has two hobs, microwave, fridge/freezer, bench top oven, electric frypan but no oven. Pots, pans, plates provided.

The Drydock - 3 Bedroom House with Mountain Views

Brand new 3-Bedroom house with off-street parking at the end of a cul-de-sac. Central location close to river walkways, speedway, hockey turf, swimming pool and supermarket. Separate toilet and bathroom with bath and shower. All three bedrooms have double or queen sized beds and the third bedroom is also set up as a workspace. There are also floor mattresses for kids. Stratford is 40 minutes from New Plymouth and 30 minutes from Hawera. It is the closest town to Taranaki Maunga.

Lucky Lot Cottage

Overlooking Ōpunake Beach, this beautiful property sits in the heart of the village. Only a two-minute walk to fill your retail/ eating and drinking needs! With just a 3–4-minute walk across the reserve you will find the Ōpunake Lake for a beautiful and easy walk around. Located right outside the backdoor, a playground for the kids and a 7km walk/ cycle track created by the heart and soul of locals. A heated swimming pool and skate park just a 10 minute walk away!
