The cottage dates back to the `17th century and is full of charm and character with old oak beams in living room and bedroom and is situated in the heart of the famous 3 peaks Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside. The |Settle to Carlisle railway runs near the cottage and station is only 6 minutes walk away. The village has two public houses The Crown and Golden Lion both within waking distance. Ideal for couples and young families. Completed in 2020, The Byre is one of 3 cottages in our old stone barn near Ullswater in the Lake District. Thornythwaite Farm is in Matterdale which is a peaceful valley off the beaten track but with great access to all the popular areas of the Lakes. There are plenty of walks from the door and a good pub, The Royal, is just a short stroll down the road.
