The Stables

Situated in Rowland Flat on a three-acre property, the stone cottage was the original tack and feed rooms for Mr Rowland's stables. Separated by a courtyard the stables are now the home of the host. The cottage is comprised of a truly delightful bedroom with an antique double bed with stunning garden views; comfortable lounge room with TV/DVD, CD/radio, books and games; light and open equipped kitchenette with bar fridge, microwave, large electric frying pan and breakfast bar overlooking gardens through french windows (provisions for continental breakfast); the bathroom has both separate shower and claw foot slipper bath, toilet and vanity. R/c air-conditioning/heating and ceiling fans throughout. Access from the cottage to your own verandah with garden spilling over…serenity…the perfect spot for breakfast, coffee or bottle of local wine. Enjoy walks through our vineyard and paddocks and come across surprises such as our free-range chooks, wood fire pizza oven, an array of interesting seating and more. Incredible views across the valley floor to the imposing ranges or, bordering our property, the beguiling North Para River (in winter a roaring, cascading joy to behold or in summer the rock based riverbed allows access to caves, a geologists delight) and the birdlife is bountiful. Use of the swimming pool is available in the warmer months.

"The Shed"

At first glance, yes it's a shed. But explore further and you will find an unique Aussie experience, a fully functional self contained room. Shower, toilet and kitchenette. All private and seperate from our house. It's normally used for overnighters by family and friends. Please be open minded in your expectations, it's not the Ritz, Hilton, Taj Mahal but what it is clean, tidy, private affordable accomadation. Single or couple. Please note that toilet, shower and sink are located in same room.

The Writer's Studio, Barossa

Perfect for one or two people, The Writer's Studio is fully self-contained. It has a really comfortable and firm inflatable queen bed. Away from the main house, it opens out onto a small orchard. This is a quiet oasis you can enjoy in between exploring all the Barossa has to offer. It has dining and sitting areas as well as a reading nook in the loft. It has a sofa which can open out for a child if necessary. Or we can set up another inflatable bed in the loft, accessed by a loft ladder.

Fresh eggs from our chickens are available daily for breakfast. Other option as well. Located 5 mins from Gawler, and only 40 mins north of Adelaide CBD.

LOCATION IS WHAT WE OFFER A sister to Lavender Cottage Barossa. A cozy place in central Tanunda, the heart of Barossa Valley, in a quiet street but only 100m from the main street (under five minutes walk to the shops, restaurants, wine bars, galleries, the Barossa Tourist Centre, also from Foodland, pharmacy, Recreational Park, Chateau Tanunda and Barossa Museum). Linen, towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner are provided.

Alberts cottage

Our heritage listed 1845 cottage is set on a working vineyard/winery in Light Pass the Barossa Valley, The Willows Vineyard. Starting its life as the original Willow’s hospital and then Albert Scholz’ pharmacy, our cottage has been lovingly restored in keeping with its original character. The ideal location to explore the Barossa Valley, local cellar doors and the Barossa farmers market (a mere 5 minutes away).
