Authentic and romantic lodge originally built of timber and used for the first time back in 1850 as housing for as many as 10 persons. Situated between the sea and the forest and with the northern light as only light in the dark season this might be the perfect place to enjoy North of Norway. The perfect match for a couple, but will also function very well for up to four persons. It is renovated to a modern standard in 2018, with focus on maintaining the heart and soul of the old building.

Do you want to stay in a beautiful remote place, while still connected to the city? Grøtfjord is located just a 40 min. drive from Tromsø. Close to some of the areas most amazing mountains, fjords, ski and climbing areas. a. Big appartment with 1 bedroom that holds a king size bed and one bunk bed. There is a fold out sleeping couch in the living room. All facilites, towels to firewood are included! A car is needed to get to grøtfjord. The hosts live in a different section of the house.

This is the house where we live, raise our family, celebrate holidays, and enjoy everyday life. When we travel ourselves, we open our home to guests who want to experience Tromsø the way locals do. Vervet area is a newly developed district in Tromsø, with restaurants, cafes right by. The city center is only a 5 minutes’ walk from the apartments, same for the Artic Cathedral across the bridge. The apartment building is modern and placed right by the harbor.
