Ulverston is famous for its festivals which attract lots of tourists. Barrow is only a 10-minute drive away for shops or if you want to go a little further Walney nature reserves are lovely.

Stunning woodland walk ways into Ulverston to the rear of the property, and riverside and beach walks nearby with excellent cycle routes close by

With local bus and train services close by it makes a perfect base to explore the Lakes and surrounding areas.

We are dog friendly. Our 250 year old cottage features modern rustic decor, u/f heating, log burner, super-fast internet, Smart TV, Sonos sound system and a complimentary podPoint 7kw EV charger. There are many wonderful walks and bike rides available from the front door. Stays start Mondays or Fridays.

The Black Dog Cottage - Cumbrian Countryside Stay

The Black Dog cottage is a charming 3 bedroom 2 bathroom property located in a quiet rural setting two doors down from the Black Dog Inn, outside the town of Dalton in Furness in the Cumbrian countryside. In 2021 the cottage was renovated creating open plan living on the ground floor, a double and single bedroom on the first with family bathroom and a master suite on the second, complete with ensuite. Off road parking is available at the front of the cottage and wifi available throughout.

The limestone and sandstone cottage is situated at the gateway to the Lake District National Park and is ideal as a base for walking, climbing the fells and visiting the lakes. Return and light the open fire in the living room and enjoy a home cooked meal or visit the many popular restaurants and pubs nearby.

Located in Swarthmoor, on the outskirts of the beautiful market town of Ulverston, this well equipped cottage is a mile outside the town centre (20 min walk or 5 minute bus ride from the end of the street). It balances the convenience of accessing the town centre but gives a more rural feeling overlooking fields to the front and having the benefit of free on street parking. It is an ideal location for walking & exploring the Lake District & also for those who enjoy a good night out.

Cooper's Cottage is tucked away in a back lane in the heart of Ulverston, situated next to the old brewery and is one of a pair of terraced barrel makers’ cottages. Ulverston is a charming little town, with a host of independent shops, a great range of pubs, cafes and restaurants and Art Deco cinema. There are lovely walks from the door and it is just a short drive, bike or bus ride to the southern lakes and many other Lake District gems - I'm always happy to make recommendations.
