This is hiking distance from the chalet. I don’t necessarily recommend the actual lookout tower, it’s rather industrial looking, though if it is staffed, the rangers might have time to give you a quick tour / point out the view. But if you hike in that general direction from the chalet you will enjoy the pine forests and views at the top of the ridge.

get great views without spending whole day hiking! 2 mile paved road drops you off at the foot of the tower.. 3 stories of stairs you will see amazing views of Inland Empire, Mount Baldy, and Cucamunga Peak.

Located above the community of Rimforest, Bear Springs Road, north of State Highway 18. Excellent views of the San Bernardino Valley and high desert. Closed in Winter.
